We love to be first for one reason or another, but Jesus’ kingdom works differently. Again and again, Jesus had to teach his disciples that many who are first will be last and many who are last will be first. 

In this story, Grandpa Paul recalls a time he raced to be first down to Lake Albert. And gained nothing from it.
